Hollie Barnes, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Owner
Hollie’s passion for leadership comes from 15 years of experience working as a School Psychologist and Director of a state agency. As a Deaf individual, she has a passion for building relationships and helping individuals recognize their own inner light. Hollie also has an interest in helping others incorporate realistic and inspiring self care in their own lives, especially in today’s unpredictable world. She gently reminds everyone that she encounters that “You can’t pour from an empty cup. You need to take care of yourself first.” Her office door is open for anyone who wishes to have a safe space to be their true selves. Hollie has excellent listening skills and is ready to provide compassionate support to her team members, let it be quiet time in her office, a video chat, or a comforting hug.
Hollie’s vision for PIE is to continue the legacy of inspiring all team members and community members to live open heartedly, have deep respect for others, and go about life with the intention of leaving each situation and person better than they were found. She also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a Deaf customer regarding interpreting and speech-to-text services. With Hollie’s deaf lens, she has a desire to build a stronger network with customers, agencies, and communities. In her role as Chief Executive Officer, she works closely with Amy in envisioning the company’s future, overseeing and maintaining the overall health of the company, and as a liaison for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities.
Amy Fryman, Chief Operations Officer & Co-Owner
Amy Fryman joined the PIE team in 1999. Amy is known among her colleagues as a forward thinker, utilizing her foresight and conceptualization skills to look towards and create a brighter future. When starting as a PIE Interpreter Coordinator in the beginning of her career, Amy honed the principles of listening and empathy – actively attending to the needs of customers, employees and clients. with colleagues, customers and the communities. During that time she demonstrated her commitment to the growth of others by welcoming and supporting new team members to the company and the field.
In her current position as Chief Operations Officer, Amy continues to focus on use and develop the skills she has attained thus far and strives to pay forward the time, energy and compassion others shared with her. The ability to foster relationships with those around her brings her the greatest joy. Looking ahead, Amy is committed to continued development of self and the PIE team as it works to build relationships with each other and the greater community, and supporting PIE in evolving to its full potential. Amy’s main focus is on the daily operations of the company and being a liaison for our customers and staff.
Amy and Hollie are a “Dream Team” at PIE. They have been friends and colleagues for over 15 years and have a deep respect and admiration for one another. Over the years, they have worked together in various capacities and quickly recognized that they have an unique working style that compliment each other. When given the opportunity to take over leadership at PIE, they agreed that they would not do this without the other. With Amy’s unmatched knowledge and wisdom of the company and Hollie’s positive Deaf leadership skills, they are excited to take PIE to the next level.
